SAFEGUARDING AT ROTHERHAM UNITED

We want our children, young people and any vulnerable adult that has contact with Rotherham United to be happy and safe!

At Rotherham United we strive to ensure that children, young people and vulnerable adults are treated with respect, we are committed to hearing their voices and we want to create a positive environment that is safe, supportive, warm and welcoming.

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of vulnerable groups and protect them from harm.

A child is defined as anyone under the age of 18.

A vulnerable adult is someone over the age of 18 who has needs for care and support, and as a result of those care and support needs is unable to protect themselves from either the risk of, or the experience of abuse or neglect.

We believe that:

Children, young people and vulnerable adults should never experience abuse of any kind.

We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children, young people and vulnerable adults to keep them safe and to run in a way that protects them.
